Review of 2017/2018. Salavat Yulaev: Finn experiment
KHL.ru continues its team-by-team review of the tenth season of the KHL Championship with a look back at the Salavat Yulaev Ufa’s 2017/2018 campaign. The Ufa club, led by the well-known Erkka Westerlund, managed to make it to the quarterfinals, where it was stopped by Traktor Chelyabinsk.
Video review of Traktor's leveler
In the 19th minute of Tuesday's match in Ufa, the deciding Game 7 in the Eastern Conference semi-final series between Salavat Yulaev and Traktor, and after the Chelyabinsk team had leveled the score at 1-1, the home team bench requested a video review of the goal, claiming a possible offside. As the video footage (below) clearly shows, no player was in an offside position and the referee was correct to award a goal to the visitors.
Refereeing Department on Loko-SKA and Salavat-Traktor
In response to further requests for clarification, the KHL Refereeing Department has released the video evidence to dispel confusion over two more controversial episodes, one from Tuesday's match in Yaroslavl, Game 4 of the Western Conference semi-final series between Lokomotiv and SKA Saint Petersburg, and the other from Tuesday's match in Chelyabinsk, Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semi-final series between Traktor and Salavat Yulaev Ufa.
