Youngster Report - U20 Edition
Yet another week of KHL’s regular season has concluded and it’s time to look at the best performing young players. But instead of your regularly scheduled U23, this special edition features the best performing U20 players from the start of the season to this very point of it.
Youngster Report - Week Thirteen
Another week of KHL’s regular season has concluded and now it’s time to look at who were the best performing U23 players during the thirteenth week. This edition features a forward and a goalie from Torpedo, an Avangard standout, a forward from Traktor as well as a defenseman from SKA.
Dinamo Riga get their first win with Krikunov
After being stuck in the airport for many hours due to weather conditions - Dinamo Riga had finally arrived in Nizhny-Novgorod shorty prior to the game against Torpedo to begin their two-game road trip. Another hurdle to overcome but Riga knew their task at hand despite anything else going on.

Another week of KHL’s regular season has concluded and now it’s time to look at who were the best performing U23 players during the twelfth week. This edition features many fresh faces, two forwards from CSKA Moscow, a forward from Vityaz Podolsk and Moscow Spartak respectively as well as a returning goalie from Torpedo Nizhny-Novgorod.
Dinamo Riga earn a point in Krikunov’s debut
Another day, another game for Dinamo Riga, and once again huge changes were made before the fourth meeting against Severstal this season. Valerijs Kulibaba no longer the main man on the bench has been replaced by Dinamo Riga legend - Vladimir Krikunov. Another attempt to reset things for the Latvian franchise hoping to crawl out of a hole.

Another week of KHL’s regular season has concluded and now it’s time to look at who were the best performing U23 players during the tenth and eleventh week. This edition features five young forward — from Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Cherepovets, Nizhny-Novgorod and Moscow teams.
Dinamo Riga finish road trip with a shootout loss
Dinamo Riga were set to close out their road series where they are yet to see a W added to their total. They lost against HC Sochi in the opener and in a game where they came close to snatching two points - Ak Bars poured cold water over their hopes with a comeback with just ten minutes remaining. Final task at hand - Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.
Ak Bars shock Dinamo Riga in the third to hand them a loss
Dinamo Riga was heading into their second road game of a three game series. Their opener was against HC Sochi where the team managed to lose in a match that wasn’t action packed and the outcome was determined by only a goal - 0:1. Now a bigger opponent came in, Ak Bars Kazan whom Riga had faced just five days ago.
Sochi take points from Dinamo Riga in a close contest
Dinamo Riga was set to begin their three-game road trip after having an extended period of on-ice action at home and having lost against Ak Bars they now moved on to play HC Sochi. An important opponent in an important game to try and manage a return to the winning ways.
Home stretch ends with a loss for Dinamo Riga
A six game home-stand for Dinamo Riga came to an end this time facing off against one of KHL’s powerhouses - Ak Bars Kazan. Statistically speaking the visitors had an upper hand having won 18 times in 25 meetings. Prior to the match Ak Bars sat 4th in the Eastern Conference while Dinamo Riga were 10th and looking to close the gap to the play-off zone.
Dinamo Riga holds on to earn two points
The international break is over and Dinamo were set to continue their long home-stretch that hasn't been as successful as they would have wanted as they entered the game with two consecutive losses. Their opponent Admiral on the other hand is one a seven-game road trip in which they previously beat the Vityaz team. When both sides met earlier this season in Vladivostok - Riga came on top with a score of 2:1.
Edgars Buncis - the man behind Dinamo Riga
Edgars Buncis - a hockey executive with plenty of experience and a big portfolio but one that has never played a game at a very high level. He isn’t your typical coach or general manager but he brings a lot to the table when you have to do business. Since March of 2021 the 46-year-old has been the GM of KHL’s Dinamo Riga team.
Dinamo Riga fall against Jokerit
Dinamo Riga was heading into their final game prior to entering the national team break. This time their task was to face the team that has handed them the toughest loss yet - 8:0 in their first meeting shortly after Sergei Zubov left the team. Riga also hasn’t had a victory against Finnish side in their last seven meetings. A rough patch that they would have to get over

The ninth week of KHL’s regular season has concluded and now it’s time to look at who were the best performing U23 players. This edition features two Sochi line-mates, returnees from Dinamo Minsk and Dynamo Moscow as well as a debutant earning his first KHL points from Avtomobilist.
Convincing home victory for Dinamo Riga
Dinamo Riga continues their home stretch this time taking on the Dynamo Moscow team in a derby that has always been enjoyable for viewers and those that are out there on the ice. Prior to the contest Riga side sat tenth in the Western conference standings while Dynamo side had placed themselves at the third spot.

The eighth week of KHL’s regular season has concluded and now it’s time to look at who were the best performing U23 players. This edition features two forwards from SKA, a forward from Avangard Omsk as well as a forward from Dinamo Minsk. The lone goalie representative this time around comes from the Severstal team.
Severstal continues their perfect run against Dinamo Riga
Dinamo Riga is back on the road - this time to fight against their nemesis of this season - Severstal Cherepovets. It’s hard to imagine a harder game to play than the one Riga would have to get through tonight, a four-point duel and them going through massive changes. Riga is without their head coach - Sergei Zubov who stepped down in the morning when the team had to fly to their first destination of a two-game road trip.

The seventh week of KHL’s regular season has concluded and now it’s time to look at who were the best performing U23 players. This edition features returnees from Dynamo Moscow and Dinamo Minsk. Representatives from HK Sochi and Avangard Omsk as well as a youngster who got his maiden KHL goal.
High scoring game gives Dinamo Riga a point against Metallurg
Red hot Dinamo Riga are back home for a game and would look to extend their winning streak. A lone home game in the Latvian capital means a chance to get to four victories in a row. The opponent that has arrived won’t be an easy task - Metallurg has been by far one of the most hot if not the hottest team early on in the season. Dinamo haven’t had much luck against their opponent as of late having lost four in a row at home to Metallurg and their last win dating back to December of 2016. If there’s a chance to take two points at home it would be right now and Riga were confident that they can achieve that.
