KHL Closing Ceremony – Hawks fly high, Dynamo duo strikes again
The KHL’s traditional end-of-season showcase was back in style at the Barvikha Luxury Village concert hall near Moscow on June 8. After having to miss out last year, the league was delighted to be able to once again put on a gala evening to celebrate the top performers from the 2020-2021 campaign.
The KHL announces its 2020 award-winners
As a result of the cancellation of the closing stages of the campaign, the League decided to change the usual procedures for determining the winners in both team and individual categories. Several prizes, normally awarded wholly or partially on the basis of performance in the playoffs, had to be suspended. However, in accordance with the KHL’s sporting regulations, the winners of the following prizes can be determined based on the results of the regular season.
League reveals marketing and communication award laureates
On May 30 the annual marketing and communication KHL seminar was held in Moscow for all the representatives of KHL, JHL, and WHL clubs. During the event, the League revealed 15 laureates for the best marketing, internet, and social projects, other than the best press offices and other. Moreover, the best photographer and journalist of the seasons were awarded. For the second year, the KHL awards the best among those who worked with media and fans.
CSKA leads the way at KHL’s annual awards
CSKA led the way at the KHL’s end-of-season award ceremony, with the Gagarin Cup winner collecting nine prizes at the big event in Moscow. Seven individual or team awards went to the Army Men, with two further nominations among the six ‘golden helmet’ winners that make up the notional ‘All-Star’ roster for the season.
