Russia wins Channel 1 Cup, Belarus beats imports to second place
The final day of international action in St. Petersburg saw Russia 25 make it three from three with victory over Kazakhstan. That secured the trophy for the tournament host, while condemning the winless Kazakhs to last place. Then Belarus thrashed the KHL World Team 6-1, securing second place in the four-team competition.
Russia wins 3x3 tournament
For the first time at the Channel 1 Cup, fans got to see 3x3 hockey. The four teams played a knock-out tournament, whetting the appetite for the start of the KHL 3x3 championship next week. Russia 25 and Belarus progressed to the final, with the host nation taking a 4-2 verdict in that gold medal game. Kazakhstan defeated the KHL World Team in the battle for bronze.
KHL World Team makes international debut
Thursday saw the start of the 2024 Channel 1 Cup. The four-team international tournament at the SKA Arena in St. Petersburg featured a KHL World Team for the first time. The roster, coached by Mike Keenan and comprising 28 top imports, faced a Russian national team in its opening game and fell to a 1-4 loss. Earlier, Belarus defeated Kazakhstan 3-1.

Russia 25 wrapped up a successful Channel 1 Cup with victory over Kazakhstan. The Red Machine’s prospects – average age 25 – defeated all-comers in St. Petersburg to win the trophy. Earlier in the day, VHL Stars got its first win of the competition, edging Belarus in OT.
KHL Statement on the situation concerning the championship
The KHL has decided to suspend the Gagarin Cup playoffs for one week. The delay is intended to organize a new format for the second phase of the season and coordinate with the authorities to stage a revised competition involving six Russian clubs.
Continental Cup Day 4 preview – the battle for second place
The Sledge Hockey Continental Cup concludes in Sochi today. The four-team tournament was organized by the Russian Paralympic Committee, the KHL and the Russian Federation of Sport for People with Physical Impairments. The tournament winner was already determined on Sunday when Russia ‘A’ clinched top spot, but the battle for the remaining places is still very much alive.
Russia races to Continental Cup victory – Day 2
Day two of the Sledge Hockey Continental Cup saw Russia’s first team secure victory in the four-team tournament in Sochi. Sunday’s early game saw Germany defeat Slovakia in a shoot-out, meaning that the winner of the derby clash between Russia ‘A’ and Russia ‘B’ would be in an impregnable position if the game was settled in regulation time. In the event, Russia ‘A’ took control from the start with a first-period hat-trick from Dmitry Lisov paving the way for a comfortable win.

The start of summer brings one of the most prestigious international sledge hockey tournaments to Sochi – the Continental Cup, organized by Russia’s Paralympic Committee, the Kontinental Hockey League and the Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairment. JHL Challenge Cup determines four players for All-Star Game 2019
JHL Challenge Cup game took place in Nizhnekamsk as part of the 2019 All-Star Week festivities. Team West won the 10<sup>th</sup> annual game as they defeated Team East 2-0 at Neftekhim-Arena. With this win Team West improves their all-time lead to 8-2.
