Live broadcast – 15:00 (GMT+3). Russia ‘B’ vs Germany
Live broadcast – 19:00 (GMT+3). Russia ‘A’ vs Slovakia
Monday was a rest day for the teams and the organizers ensured there was a busy program for all the athletes. To start the day, the teams enjoyed a yacht trip on the Black Sea before returning to dry land for a tour of Sochi city. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed a look around the attractions of Russia’s southern resort.
Three teams retain a theoretical chance of claiming second place in today’s games. The first game pits Russia ‘B’ against Germany. If the Russians win that one, they would be assured of the silver medals, regardless of the outcome of the evening match-up between Russia ‘A’ and Slovakia. However, the Germans are just one point behind and could secure the runner-up spot with victory this afternoon. Slovakia, too, could get there in the event of a German victory in overtime and an unexpected win against a powerful Russia ‘A’ team that has won two games with a goal differential of 14-0.
