The KHL Board of Directors confirms the teams for 2020-2021
On August 7, 2020, at an online meeting of the KHL Board of Directors, the 23 clubs to take part in the 2020/2021 championship were confirmed. After reviewing all of the documentation provided by the league, the board agreed to confirm that, for the coming season, the KHL will run with 23 competing teams.
League clubs to share almost $6m windfall
On Friday, the 7th of September, at a meeting of the KHL Board of Directors in Moscow, approval was given to the distribution among member clubs of profits earned from the sale of TV rights to matches in the Championship. The total sum shared out between the League’s teams amounted to more than 400m rubles, almost $6m, subject to Russian Sales Tax.
Season 2018-19: 25 clubs, a lower salary cap, and an ASW in Tatarstan
The Kontinental Hockey League Board of Directors held a meeting today in Moscow, the outcome of which included the approval of the structure for the KHL Championship 2018-19 season, an outline of the draft version of the match schedule for the new season, and the identity of the host cities for the 2019 Week of Hockey Stars.
