Shipachyov, Afinogenov, Kagarlitsky to Dynamo. May 15-18 transfers
Dynamo Moscow has agreed two-year contracts with a pair of famous forwards: Vadim Shipachyov (1987), the Olympic, World, and two-time Gagarin Cup champion who returned to SKA last season ater his move to the Vegas Golden Knights went awry, and his fellow World Championship gold medalist, Maxim Afinogenev (1979), formerly of the Buffalo Sabres and Atlanta Thrashers. Also joining Dynamo, but on a one-year deal, is another Russian international, ex-Severstal and Donbass forward Dmitry Kagarlitsky (1989).

On Saturday in Kazan begins the final series of the Gagarin Cup, which will be contested by Ak Bars and CSKA. For the Muscovite Army Men, this is a second appearances in the KHL playoffs final. A mere two years ago, Dmitry Kvartalnov's team took the series to seven games before succumbing to Metallurg Magnitogorsk. For the club from Kazan, this will be a fourth final appearance and a chance to become the first team to win the League's major trophy for a third time.
