On December 1, the World AIDS Day was celebrated for the 30th time. The KHL and the Durex brand organized special events dedicated to this date. Most of them happened at the Moscow Derby between CSKA and Spartak, which was sold-out.

Durex (Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare Ltd) and the Kontinental Hockey League have signed a cooperation agreement. During the 2018/2019 season they will organize a massive social project with the aim of raising public awareness in sexual health and countering the HIV and AIDs spread in Russia.
