KHL 3x3: Ufa tops group, Minsk and Traktor join Ak Bars in final four
We’re at the semi-final stage in the KHL 3x3 Championship, and Saturday will decide the medallists at this year’s inaugural tournament. Salavat Yulaev, Ak Bars, Dinamo Minsk and Traktor will contest the semi-finals and medal games tomorrow in Moscow.
KHL 3x3 Round 18: Dinamo’s Dominance
This was Dinamo Minsk’s best performance to date in the KHL 3x3 Championship. The Belarusians were almost faultless during Round 18, dropping just one point in their final game. That shoot-out loss to Sibir didn’t have any lasting ill-effect, though, with Dinamo rebounding to defeat the Siberians in the Supergame. Sibir came second in the group, with Metallurg third and Barys fourth.
KHL 3x3 Round 13: Shakirov stars on Ak Bars debut, Sibir hits new level
Overall tournament leader Ak Bars won the latest round at the KHL 3x3 – but did it with a substantially new roster drawing on players from the organization’s VHL team. And Sibir also had a good weekend, powered in part by its own recruit from the VHL.
KHL 3x3 Round 12: Traktor wins at the midway stage
This week’s action comes exactly halfway through the regular season as we played round 12 of 24. And, for the first time, Traktor came out on top. That lifts the Chelyabinsk team to third in the overall standings, and shattered a Supergame hoodoo: previously, Traktor had lost all three of its million-ruble showdowns.
KHL 3x3 Round 9: Victory for Minsk and Shumakov’s ‘Michigan’
Dinamo Minsk won its first Supergame as Sergei Kuznetsov starred for the Belarusians. Sergei Shumakov potted one of the goals of the tournament as Traktor came second in the group. As a result, Dinamo climbs to second in the Winline Division, while Avangard edges in front of Metallurg to take second in the Fonbet Division.
KHL 3x3 round 8: Reizvikh’s shut-outs earn Avangard another million
The latest round of the KHL 3x3 Championship was one of the closest yet. On the final morning, all four teams had a chance of making it to the Supergame. In the end, Traktor’s win over Metallurg put it on top of the standings, while Avangard was a point behind after defeating Sibir. The Hawks then went on to win that Supergame.
KHL 3x3 Round 7: Victory for Salavat and Anisimov’s wonder-goal
Salavat Yulaev slowed Ak Bars’ impressive 3x3 progress as the new format witnessed its first Green Derby meetings. The two powerhouses finished the round with five wins and one shoot-out loss apiece, but Ufa had the edge, scoring 41 goals in six games. Ak Bars, unusually, found things tougher this time: four of its five wins were in shoot-outs. The two teams are out in front in the Fonbet and Winline Divisions. Dinamo Minsk is second in the Winline behind Ak Bars, while Barys struggled throughout this round and remains at the foot of the Fonbet.
KHL 3x3 Round 6: Hawks get younger, Chmelevski scores five on Sibir
The sixth round of the KHL 3x3 Championship turned into a battle between Salavat Yulaev and Avangard. In the group stage, Salavat won both games between the two and claimed top spot with 10 points from a possible 12. But Avangard was only a point behind, and got revenge in the Supergame with a 4-2 victory to claim the million-ruble reward. Salavat remains second in the Fonbet Division, now five points clear of Avangard. Traktor and Sibir collected four points each and remain third and fourth in the Winline Division.
Battle of the leaders, Ak Bars wins Supergame. KHL 3x3 Round Five
Once again, Ak Bars came out on top. Round five saw Kazan win four games from six before going on to thump Metallurg 7-2 in the Supergame. Overall, that has Ak Bars and Magnitka tied on two Supergames each, while the two are out in front in the Winline and Fonbet Divisions respectively. Barys showed signs of getting to grips with the 3x3 format, picking up wins against the two leaders. Dinamo Minsk climbs to second in the Winline Division with an improved performance this weekend.
KHL 3x3 Round 4: Dinamo’s streak and Ufa’s million
Round four of the KHL 3x3 Championship saw Dinamo Minsk take top spot in the group stage ahead of Salavat Yulaev. With four wins in six games, Dinamo moves to second in the Winline Division, albeit some way behind a dominant Ak Bars team. Ufa is second in the Fonbet Division, just four points behind Metallurg. And Salavat Yulaev also celebrated victory in the Supergame to earn that million-ruble bonus.
KHL 3x3, Round 3: Ak Bars’ series, and Magnitka’s second Supergame
Round three of the KHL 3x3 Championship saw Ak Bars on top again. The Kazan team won all six of its games to take a commanding lead at the top of the Winline Division. In the Fonbet Division, Metallurg also has a 10-point lead finishing second in this round. And Magnitka also had the consolation of halting Ak Bars in the Supergame to secure its second million-ruble check of the tournament.
KHL 3x3 Round 2: Ak Bars on top and the first 3x3 shut-outs
Round 2 of the KHL 3x3 Championship saw Ak Bars come out on top. After a 0-6 loss in the opening game, Kazan’s players learned first and rolled out five victories in a row to win the round. Then Ak Bars avenged that early defeat by beating Avangard 4-3 in the Supergame. Ak Bars jumps to the top of the Winline Division, ahead of Traktor, while Avangard moves second in the Fonbet Division, two points back from Metallurg.
KHL 3x3 Round 1: Unstoppable Metallurg and a flurry of hat-tricks

The Steelmen won five out of six games in the first weekend tournament, and followed that up with a comfortable victory over Traktor in the showcase Supergame to conclude the first contest of the tournament. As a result, Magnitka is the early leader in the Fonbet Division with 10 points. Traktor has eight points, and leads the Winline Division.
