Finland won gold on home ice for the first time, defeating Canada 4-3 in overtime after an enthralling World Championship final. Earlier in the day, there was a morale-boosting win for the Czechs as they fought back to defeat Team USA and win bronze.

For the third tournament in a row, Finland will face Canada for World Championship gold. The host nation edged past team USA in a 4-3 humdinger before the Canadians despatched Czechia 6-1 in the later game.

It’s Finland vs USA and Canada vs Czechia in the World Championship semi-finals after a day of upsets and fightbacks at the start of the knock-out stage. Canada and Finland both came back from behind to overcome Sweden and Slovakia respectively.
