Uzbekistan will become the 16th country to host a KHL game, and Tashkent the 49th city.
The KHL World Games project began in the 2018-2019 season with games in Vienna, Zurich, and Tallinn. The following season, games were held in Davos and Tallinn, and in 2021, in Dubai. Spartak has already played outside of the regular KHL locations, having participated in a game in Davos in 2010 and in a game in Tallinn in 2018. For Dinamo Minsk, this will be its first such match.
Alexei Morozov, President of the KHL:
— We are pleased to announce the return of the KHL World Games project. I’m confident the match in Tashkent will be held at a high level, meeting our standards, and will attract new fans. I would like to especially thank Dinamo Minsk and Spartak, who will represent the KHL in a new country for us — Uzbekistan.
