D, Admiral, 3 G, 2 (1+1) points
The Czech defenseman was successful even representing the World Team at the recent Channel One Cup, further cementing his status of one of the top import defensemen in the league. In the international tournament, Sulak posted points in two games from three. First, he scored the lone goal for the KHL World Team in the 1:4 loss to Russia 25 on the tournament’s inaugural day. Then, after going off the scoresheet in his team’s win over Team Kazakhstan, he had an assist in the KHL World Team’s losing effort to Team Belarus – once again contributing to the lone goal from his team. The Czech defenseman kept on showing his worth even on the international scene.
F, Sibir, 3 G, 2 (1+1) points
The forward has impressed on the international scene as well, following a good start of the season with Sibir. After an excellent showing against Kunlun Red Star before the pause, Andreoff posted good stats with the KHL World Team, being one of the top scorers in the team. First, he assisted Libor Sulak in the lone goal for the team against Russia 25, then netted the third goal for the World Stars in the 3:1 win over Team Kazakhstan – the team’s lone win in the tournament. With Sibir hunting a spot in the Eastern Conference’s playoffs, Andreoff’s production will be essential to his team.
G, Spartak, 2 G, GAA 1.50
The Slovak goalie posted a goals-against average of 1.50 throughout the tournament, protecting the crease in his team’s only win in the tournament – 3:1 over Kazakhstan. Moreover, Rybar also played the third period in KHL World Team’s losing effort to Russia 25 in the first day of the tournament (1:4), allowing only one goal in twenty minutes. It was a strong showing by the Slovak netminder, who may be a good weapon for the Red-and-Whites in the regular season’s second part.
D, Metallurg, 3 G, 1 (0+1) point
The Swedish defenseman was once again instrumental for his team, logging minutes in great chunks and patrolling the blue line, other than producing some interesting offensive plays. The Swede’s only point in the tournament came in his team’s win over the Kazakhs, with Press assisting Andy Andreoff’s tally in the middle frame. There are little doubts that Press will keep on being a strong option for Metallurg on the blue line with top-pairing minutes and responsibilities.
