Swedish winger Dmytro Timashov, 27, has just signed a one-year deal in Sochi after his rights were traded from SKA during a trade that saw the Fedotov brothers being moved to the Black Sea shore. After playing in Sweden and Switzerland, the former NHLer is thus headed to Russia. In the 2023-2024 season, he played for HC Ajoie in Switzerland’s National League, where he recorded 20 points in 35 games. Timashov’s agility, puckhandling skills, and ability to create dangerous chances at top speed will be valuable assets for HC Sochi. His experience from different leagues and his scoring ability will undoubtedly contribute to his new team’s offensive strategies. Timashov’s move to the KHL marks a new chapter in his diverse career – he played in Sweden, Canada, the US, and Switzerland in his career, helping the Toronto Marlies lifting the Calder Cup in 2018.
From Calgary Flames to Dinamo Minsk
Dillon Dube has signed with Minsk last week as the Belarusian franchise keep on improving their roster with the help of the North American market. In the 2023-24 NHL season, Dube played 43 games for the Calgary Flames, scoring 3 goals and 4 assists. Throughout his career, Dube has played 325 regular season games and 22 playoff games, accumulating a total of 133 points. Dube’s experience and proven track record will undoubtedly bring a strong offensive presence to Dinamo Minsk.
From Linkoping (SHL) to Lada
Lada’s newly signed forward on the international market is Anthony Greco. In the 2023-2024 SHL season, Greco played 33 games for Linkoping HC, scoring 6 goals and 9 assists. Throughout his career, Greco has played in various leagues including the NHL, AHL, and SHL, with his NHL debut with the Florida Panthers in 2018. The forward spent several years side to side with Kunlun Red Star’s new defenseman Ian McCoshen. Greco’s experience and versatility will undoubtedly bring a strong offensive presence to Lada Togliatti. Sheldon Rempal has just joined Salavat Yulaev Ufa and has all the potential to become one of the league’s main stars. In the 2023-2024 season, Rempal played for the Vegas Golden Knights, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist in nine games, but spent most of the season in the AHL. Throughout his career, Rempal has played in various leagues including the NHL and AHL. Notably, he made his NHL debut with the Los Angeles Kings in 2018. Some of his main achievements include being named to the BCHL First Team All-Stars (2016), ECAC All-Rookie Team (2017), AHCA Second Team All-American (2018), ECAC First All-Star Team (2018), ECAC All-Tournament Team (2018), and AHL All-Star Game (2019). Rempal’s experience and versatility will undoubtedly bring a strong offensive presence to Salavat Yulaev. The Ufa franchise has also inked Ilya Chmelevski – Alex’s younger brother – to a one-year contract. The young forward will start his season with Toros Neftekhamsk – Salavat Yuaev’s affiliate in the VHL.

Quebecoise Arnaud Durandeau has recently signed with Amur, after spending the 2023-2024 season, with three different AHL clubs, scoring 6 goals and 18 assists in 48 games. Durandeau’s experience and versatility will undoubtedly bring a strong offensive presence to Amur, who has now a full five-men import squad, with Durandeau, Alex Broadhurst, Devin Brosseau, Jan Drozg, and Alex Galchenyuk.
From Severstal to CSKA
Christian Jaros has recently transferred from Severstal Cherepovets to CSKA Moscow. In the 2023-2024 season, Jaros scored 3 goals and made 15 assists in 48 games for Severstal. This will be Jaros’ second stint with CSKA, having previously played for them in the 2022-2023 season. During that term, he celebrated a Gagarin Cup championship with the club. Jaros’ return to CSKA Moscow is expected to bolster the team’s defense. His experience, coupled with his ability to contribute offensively, will be a valuable asset to CSKA Moscow.
