2021-2022 KHL season kicks off in style with Avangard vs CSKA!
A tradition that feels as old as time is renewed as last season’s Gagarin Cup finalists face off to kick off the 2021-2022 season. Both teams enter the season with high expectations, and more than a few experts feel that both are still among the top 5 favorites across the league. A familiar face in Mikhail Grigorenko tags up with Swedes Lucas Wallmark and Joakim Nordström in joining CSKA straight out of the NHL while Avangard has done little to change its obviously homogenous line-up. Many believe Nail Yakupov’s preseason displays of skill have him primed for his best ever season as a professional.
