KHL World Games is a unique chance for fans in different countries to experience the highest level of hockey from Eurasia’s top league.
Dinamo’s roster includes the KHL’s all-time top scorer, Olympic and World Champion and two-time Gagarin Cup winner Vadim Shipachyov as well as experienced North American players and rising stars of Belarusian hockey. Spartak has one of the most dangerous strike trios in the KHL: Pavel Poryadin and Ivan Morozov, alongside World Junior silver medallist Nikolai Goldobin. Last season, these three came together for the first time and rattled in goals consistently all through the campaign. Now spectators in Uzbekistan can witness their skills and chemistry at first hand.
Spectators can look forward to a real festival of hockey – as well as an exciting battle between two strong teams, the arena will be full of events on game day, including an autograph session with World Champions!
Uzbekistan is the 16th country to host at KHL game, and Tashkent is the 49th city.
The KHL World Games started in 2018/2019 with games in Vienna, Zurich and Tallinn. The following season, we went to Davos and Tallinn, then in 2021 Dubai was the first host from the Middle East. Spartak has already played beyond the KHL’s traditional borders – in 2010 in Davos, then in 2018 in Tallinn. For Dinamo, this will be the first World Games experience.
Alexei Morozov, KHL president:
— We are delighted to see the return of the KHL World Games. I’m sure that the game in Tashkent will be staged at a high level, meeting all our standards and attracting new fans. I’d also like to thank Dinamo Minsk and Spartak, who will represent the KHL in Uzbekistan for the first time.
Bakhodir Gafurov, deputy-president of the Uzbekistan Hockey Federation:
— We only started playing hockey in Uzbekistan six years ago and in that short time we’ve already achieved a lot. However, we are still striving for new heights, so a KHL game in Uzbekistan will show our fans new horizons and set new standards.
We’re grateful to everybody involved in the game, and to the league for this opportunity to experience hockey at the highest level.
