KHL President Alexei Morozov
Dear friends and respected colleagues,
In 2023 we enjoyed some great hockey, celebrated the successes of our teams and helped to make our league better every day.
With each passing year the league gets more competitive. Our clubs are developing, and the tournament is more interesting than ever. In 2023 everyone was excited to see the emergence of Admiral and Torpedo at the end of last season, not to mention the performance of Spartak and Lada – the latter back in the KHL after some years away – in the first part of the current campaign. We’re seeing the dawn of a new generation of stars on the ice, and a new wave of coaches ready to compete and conquer the veteran leaders. This makes it harder than ever to predict results and spectators are flocking to the arenas and following broadcasts in greater numbers than ever.
The KHL and its clubs continue to work hard with the media, developing various projects to attract new fans. An important plank of the new KHL strategy is our work with the next generation: we’re continuing with our “KHL Hockey Lessons” project, and in 2023 we unveiled the league’s first ever mascot – Krut the Snowman. I’m sure that in the future we’ll enjoy even more cool hockey together!
I’m grateful to fans of all teams for their support this year. It means a huge amount to the players. They play this game for you, to give you joy and excitement in every game. Let’s hope for even more in 2024! Never be afraid to dream – the New Year holiday is a time for magic when any dream can come true!
I wish you all health, joy and prosperity. Happy New Year!
