SKA faces Sibir trying to revert the trend!
The KHL matchday starts in Vladivostok, who hosts Traktor for a rematch of the Thursday clash. Admiral got the upper hand with a 3:0 loss and a shutout for Alexander Lazushin, but Traktor has already defeated the Sailors this season (2:1 OT) and it’ll be interesting to check out the third encounter’s final result.
The other Eastern game of the day is the showdown between Sibir and SKA. The St. Petersburg franchise had a striking start of the season, but two games in the Far East took their toll, and SKA quickly found itself on a sensational two-game losing streak. Tonight, they will try to return to taste the victory’s flavor with a game in Novosibirsk. Sibir is the fifth seed in the East and just defeated Dynamo Moscow – SKA shouldn’t expect a walk in the park.
In the Western Conference, things start early with Vityaz hosting Avtomobilist after collecting a win in Kazakhstan on Tuesday. However, the Motormen are in excellent shape and won twice in a row, and they will be eyeing a third straight victory as they visit the Moscow Region again.
In Sochi, the Black Sea franchise hosts Torpedo tonight, and finally won after twelve games when an OT tally by Andrei Altybarmakyan sank Lokomotiv for the team’s fourth win in the season. However, Igor Larionov’s young guns are likely more than willing to spoil the party and collect a third straight victory.
A showdown between Kunlun Red Star and Neftekhimik closes up another exciting KHL matchday.
