Lokomotiv hosts Dinamo Minsk in today’s only game!
The Railwaymen had a good start of the season and now they are sitting in the West’s fourth place after 23 games, with 14 wins – including a shutout one over Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod on Friday, when Ivan Bocharov stopped 25 shots and Artur Kayumov potted a double for a 2:0 home win.
The Belarusian franchise also collected a win in its latest game, with Canada’s Nick Merkley realizing the game-winning shootout attempt and Alexei Kolosov posting 31 shots as Dinamo returned to victory after losing twice in a row. Interestingly enough, Dinamo’s most recent win was a 5:2 over the Railwaymen on Oct 22 – Lokomotiv was up by two with an early lead, but five unanswered Belarusian goals gave Dinamo a well-deserved win. Currently, the Minsk side is the eighth seed in the Western Conference, and they will want to defeat Lokomotiv again in this rematch to climb up further.
