Best Players of the 2022-2023 eighth week

The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the Regular Season’s eighth week in four categories.

Last week, the League’s teams played 29 games, with 531 players (41 goalies, 180 defensemen, and 310 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 5.79 goals per game.

- Best goalie for the second time in his career was Adam Reideborn (CSKA), who won two games from two last week. The Swedish netminder faced 54 shots, or 27 per night, posting a saves percentage of 96.30% and a goals-against average of 1.00. He was awarded goalie of the week honors for the first time in the 2020-2021 eighteenth week.

- Best defenseman for the second time in his career was Ryan Murphy (Salavat Yulaev), who scored 3 (1+2) points in three games last week. The Canadian defenseman posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-7 differential. In the Tuesday game against Spartak, Murphy posted the game-winning goal. Murphy was awarded best defenseman honors in the 2019-2020 twenty-first week.

- Best forward for the second time in his career was Anton Slepyshev (CSKA), who scored 7 (2+5) points in three games last week. The forward posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-4 differential. Slephsyev also recorded two hits, blocked one shot, and had three takeaways. The forward was awarded best forward honors in the 2014-2015 twentieth week, representing Salavat Yulaev.

- Best rookie for the first time in his career was defenseman Daniil Orlov (Spartak), who scored 2 (0+2) points in three games last week. The blueliner blocked three shots, and logged an average time on ice of 14 minutes and 40 seconds. The most recent Spartak rookie to be awarded best of week honors was Artyom Serikov in 2020-2021 fifteenth week.
