Green Derby, part 2, in Kazan!
Tonight it’s the second edition of the Green Derby, after two powerplay goals by Kirill Petrov on Sep 27 helped Ak Bars sinking Salavat Yulaev in Ufa with a 3:0 score. However, the situation will be different today as the Ufa franchise winning four of its last five games, with a SO defeat to Torpedo. Moreover, Salavat Yulaev is currently the third seed in the East, while Kazan shifted down to fifth place. A rematch is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 26, and the teams will meet again on Nov 3.
Earlier, again the Eastern Conference, Sibir welcomes Vityaz, trying to catch up on Ak Bars after a loss to Neftekhimik. The Andrei Martemyanov’s men have been up and down late, but Vityaz is on a four-match losing streak – both teams will be vying for a win.
The action then moves to the West, where Dinamo Minsk hosts Lokomotiv for the second time this year. The Railwaymen are on a hot, five-game winning streak and they have already defeated Minsk this season – it will be hard for the Belarusians to try and halt their positive results of late.
