KHL to keep playoff format for 2022-2023

The KHL and the Russian Hockey Federation agreed the structure for the second stage of the Fonbet KHL Championship 2022-2023 season.

In 2022-2023, the KHL playoffs will continue in their established format, which brings the top teams from the Western and Eastern Conferences together in the Gagarin Cup final. The current format has been used by the league since 2009-2010.

During the current season, a working group will consider alternative playoff formats which could be introduced for the 2023-2024 campaign.
