Goldobin’s hat-trick got Metallurg back into contention on Tuesday, and today Magnitka may tie things up with the Hawks. In the West, Spartak will also try to win the series against SKA.

When the series moved to Balashikha after two Avangard wins in Magnitogorsk, not many expected Magnitka to have a real chance to revert the trend. However, Nikolai Goldobin netted a hat-trick in game three as the Ilya Vorobyov’s men achieved a 5:2 away win – they will have a tremendous chance to make it a 2-2 series tonight.

In the Western Conference, Spartak couldn’t repeat game one’s success and lost again as SKA scored two unanswered goals in the second period – a late goal by Andrei Loktionov wasn’t enough to rally back as SKA’s Lars Johansson posted 26 saves in a St. Petersburg’s 2:1 win.
