The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the Regular Season’s seventeenth week in four categories.

Last week, the League’s teams played 33 games, with 550 players (32 goalies, 186 defensemen, and 332 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 5.36 goals per game.

Best goalie for the fourth time in his career and the second time this season was Simon Hrubec (Avangard), who won two games from three last week. The Czech goalie faced 83 shots, or 27.7 per night, posting a saves percentage of 95.18 and a goals-against average of 1.35. In the Jan 7 game against Dinamo Minsk, Hrubec posted his 5th shutout of the season.

Best defenseman for the second time in his career was Ruslan Pedan (Amur), who scored 4 (2+2) points in four games last week. Pedan finished one game with a positive rating, with an overall plus-2 differential. The defenseman had 11 shots on goal and recorded 10 hits.

Best forward for the first time in his career was Nikita Korostelyov (Metallurg), who scored 5 (3+2) points in four games last week. The forward finished one game with a positive rating, with an overall plus-4 differential. Korostelyov had seven shots on goal, recorded two hits, and earned one powerplay for his team.

Best rookie for the first time in his career was forward Daniil Gutik (Admiral), who scored 2 (2+0) points in two games. Gutik posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-4 differential. The forward had five shots on goal, and potted the game-winner in the Sunday game against Spartak.
