The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the Regular Season’s sixteenth week in four categories.

Last week, the League’s teams played 22 games, with 528 players (35 goalies, 177 defensemen, and 316 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 5.36 goals per game.

Best goalie for the first time in his career was Roman Will (Traktor), who won two games from two last week. The Czech goalie faced 68 shots, or 34 per night, posting a saves percentage of 95.59 and a goals-against average of 1.50.

Best defenseman for the second time in his career was Philip Holm (Jokerit), who scored 5 (2+3) points in two games last week. Holm posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-4 rating. The Swedish defenseman was awarded best defenseman honors for the first time in 2018-2019 11th week, representing Torpedo.

Best forward for the first time in his career was Stepan Starkov (Vityaz), who scored 5 (5+0) points in two games last week. Starkov posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-3 differential. In the Dec 30 game against HC Sochi, the forward posted his first career hat-trick and the game-winner. He also recorded two hits and blocked two shots.

Best rookie for the second time in his career was defenseman Patriks Ozols (Dinamo Riga), who scored 2 (1+1) points. In the Dec 30 game against Torpedo, Ozols potted the OT game-winner. He also blocked three shots and earned two powerplays for his team.
