The Steel Foxes leads the league’s table, but they’ve got the Hawks on their winning path – an exciting matchup is on tap on an action-packed KHL Thursday.

The KHL matchday has an early start with two games in the Far East – Amur and Neftekhimik clash again after Nizhnekamsk’s victory of yesterday, while Admiral welcomes Lokomotiv after they moved up the last place in the standings with a three-game winning streak.

The action then moves to Chelyabinsk. Traktor has been unexpectedly dominated by Ak Bars on Tuesday, and the Anvar Gatiyatullin’s men will seek revenge and redemption against Severstal. On its turn, Kazan hosts Barys. The Kazakhs have been in fine shape lately, and it won’t be easy for Ak Bars to get two consecutive wins as Barys is seeking a postseason qualification. Kunlun Red Star hosts Torpedo, and Vityaz faces off with HC Sochi as bench boss Andrei Nazarov visits his former team, but the central game of the matchday is the Magnitka and Avangard showdown. Metallurg has been impressive throughout the season and is deservedly on the top of the standings, while the Gagarin Cup reigning champions are trying to climb up the standings and a win over Magnitogorsk will do just fine for the Bob Hartley’s men.

Dynamo Moscow hosts Avtomobilist in the closing game of the matchday – despite an OT loss to HC Sochi on Thursday, the Blue-and-Whites are still one of the top teams in the West, currently sitting in second place in the standings, while the Yekaterinburg side is not on its best shape of late.
