The Jokers move to Moscow to face Spartak for the third time, while the Latvians face Vityaz trying to move up from the last place in the Western Conference’s standings. Eight games in three countries are on tap in a busy KHL Friday.

Jokerit regained the top of the West’s standings after a defeat in St. Petersburg a week ago – the Finnish side achieved two consecutive victories against Amur and Severstal, and today it takes on Spartak. In a heated match on Nov 22, the Jokers posted a 6:1 win, and Spartak will likely want to revenge, also to keep its playoff hopes alive.

Dinamo Riga will also want to achieve a win – Vityaz is a target for the standings and moving off the last place in the standings will be a matter of honor for Vladimir Krikunov. The veteran coach is just at the start of its journey in Latvia, but he will certainly want to achieve more win as possible before the League pauses for the EHT next week.

The KHL matchday starts in the East with Barys playing back-to-back games – this time against Kunlun Red Star, and Metallurg hosting SKA.

Then, Ak Bars faces Neftekhimik in a classic Tatarstan derby, while Lokomotiv hosts Avtomobilist. Severstal lost to Jokerit in its previous match, and the Gennady Razin’s men will try to get two points again facing off with Avangard. Finally, Dinamo Minsk hosts Torpedo in a do-or-die game where a win is critical for either side in terms of playoff chances.
