The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the Regular Season’s ninth week in four categories.

Last week, the League’s teams played 31 games, with 556 players (41 goalies, 188 defensemen, and 327 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 4.81 goals per game.

— Best goalie for the fourth time in his career was Magnus Hellberg (HC Sochi), who won three games from three last week. Hellberg faced 68 shots, or 22.7 per night, posting a saves percentage of 97.06% and a goals-against average of 0.67. In the game against Torpedo, Hellberg posted his third shutout of the current season. Hellberg was already awarded Best goalie honors representing Kunlun Red Star (once) and SKA St. Petersburg (twice).

— Best defenseman for the fourth time in his career was Mikko Lehtonen (SKA), who scored 3 (1+2) points in three games. Lehtonen posted no negative ratings, compiling a plus-6 differential. The Finnish defenseman had seven shots on goal, recorded two hits, blocked one shot, and logged an average time on ice of 28 minutes and 58 seconds. Lehtonen was already awarded Best defenseman honors three times representing Jokerit.

— Best forward for the second time in his career was Andrei Kuzmenko (SKA), who scored 6 (4+2) points in three games last week. Kuzmenko posted no negative ratings, compiling a plus-6 differential. The SKA forward posted doubles in the games against Avangard (5:1) and Dynamo Moscow (3:2). Moreover, he recorded one hit, blocked two shots, and earned two powerplays for his team. Kuzmenko was first awarded Best forward honors in 2017-2018’s twelfth week, representing CSKA.

— Best rookie for the third time in his career was Dmitry Rashevsky (Dynamo Moscow), who scored 3 (1+2) points in three games last week. The forward had six shots on goal, recorded two hits, and logged an average time on ice of 16 minutes and 45 seconds.
