The plan for the weekend looks like this. On Feb. 21, at 11am Moscow Time, we’re starting our live broadcast on the KHL’s VKontakte group and on YouTube. We’ll see the coolest, smartest and cleverest mascots coming together to compete in the final show, thanks to SKY GROUP, an official event partner, which is organizing transport for all the participants from their cities to Moscow and back home again. You can also see the final contest on KHL TV and KHL HD, starting at 17:30.
Our hosts, actress Irina Chesnokova and dancer Dmitry Krasilov, will be directing the irrepressible energy of our mascots into their challenges, while the contest will be judged by a grand jury. This will include the mentors from the first two stages — choreographer and director Egor Druzhinin, hockey expert and commentator Denis Kazansky — plus singer and showman T-moor Rodriguez.
There are three parts to finding the king of creating a party mood in the arenas — and success won’t be easy or boring. In the qualifying round, the mascots will compete in the finest hockey traditions of physical fitness and dedication. The semi-final is entirely improvised, testing all the imagination and resourcefulness of our mascots. And there’s no let-up in the final, when our most impressive mascots will have to unleash the full force of their creativity — and so will the judges! All of the missions will test both intuition and hockey knowledge.
During the show, the jury will unveil the shortlists and announce the winners from the two categories we’ve already seen — the dance battle and the hockey mastery challenges.
And we already know for sure that one contestant will be taking a prize home: the Priceless Mascot award, presented in partnership with Mastercard, has been chosen by voters ahead of the big show. Following a poll on the KHL’s VKontakte page, the title went to Zubrik of Dinamo Minsk. He can look forward to collecting a special prize from Mastercard on Sunday.
See you at the gala show!
