The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the Regular Season’s third week in four categories.

— Best goalie was Yaroslav Askarov (SKA), who won two of three games last week, including one away shutout. He faced a total of 78 shots (or 26 per night), with a saves percentage of 97.44%. Askarov had a goals-against average of 0.74. His shutout against Spartak on Sep. 17 was his first in the KHL.

— Best defenseman was Juuso Hietanen (Dynamo Moscow), who won all three games with his team last week, including two away matches, with three assists. The Finnish D-man posted no negative ratings, ending the week being plus-6 — the week’s best figures. Hietanen scored points in each of the week’s games, had 12 shots on goal (best result among defensemen), recorded four hits, and blocked four shots.

— Best forward was Teemu Hartikainen (Salavat Yulaev Ufa), who won two of three games with his team last week, including one away match, scoring 7 (3+4) points (best numbers of the week) with a plus-2 rating. The Finn forward had a double against Torpedo — including the game-winning goal. Hartikainen scored points in all the week’s games, had 16 shots on goal (best result of the week), and recorded two hits.

— Best rookie was goalie Yaroslav Askarov (SKA) who won two of three games last week, including one away shutout. He faced a total of 78 shots (or 26 per night), with a saves percentage of 97.44%. Askarov had a goals-against average of 0.74. His shutout against Spartak on Sep. 17 was the first in the KHL for the 18-years-old netminder. Before the start of the season, Askarov only had one KHL career game.
