The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the eighteenth week of the Regular Season in four categories.

- best goalie was Magnus Hellberg (SKA), who won two games last week, including one shutout, allowing only one goal. The Swedish netminder stopped 97.30% of the shots he faced, with a goals-against average of 0.50 (best result of the week). Hellberg’s shutout streak is now at 102 minutes and 43 seconds.

- best defenseman was Vyacheslav Voynov (Avangard), who won three away games last week with his team, scoring 4 (0+4) points (best result of the week among blueliners). The Omsk D-Man posted two assists in each game against Admiral (on Jan. 15 and 16), posted no negative ratings, finished the week being plus-3, and recorded four hits. Voynov logged an average time on ice of 27 minutes and 52 seconds (the highest in the League last week).

- best forward was Vladimir Tkachyov (SKA), who won two games with his team last week, scoring 5 (3+2) points (best result of the week among forwards). Tkachyov scored points in both games, posting a double against Jokerit, including the game-winning goal. The St. Petersburg defenseman posted no negative ratings, ending the week plus-3, had ten shots on goal, and recorded two hits.

- best rookie was goalie Dmitry Shugayev (Severstal), who played two full games last week, winning one and allowing only two goals. The 21-years-old Cherepovets netminder stopped the 93.33% of the 45 shots he faced, with a goals-against average of 1.49.
