The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the eighth week of the Regular Season in four categories.

- best goalie was Vasily Koshechkin (Metallurg), who had a shutout win over Avtomobilist and a SO win over Ak Bars last week. The veteran netminder didn’t allow any goal in regulation against Kazan. Koshechkin had a saves percentage of 96.94% and a goals-against average of 0.98. Over the last two weeks, the Magnitogorsk goalie at one time had a shutout streak of 242 minutes and 34 seconds – a record for Metallurg and t0 he fifth-best result in the League’s history.

- best defenseman was Trevor Murphy (Kunlun Red Star), who won two from three games last week (including two road matches), scoring 3 (2+1) points. The Chinese franchise’s blueliner posted no negative ratings, ended the week being plus-2, and scored points in all games. Moreover, he had 13 shots on goal, and blocked three shots from the opposition.

- best forward was Dmitrij Jaskin (Dynamo Moscow), who won two games with his team last week, scoring 6 (2+4) points (best result of the week). The forward of the Blues-and-Whites scored points in all games, having posted four assists against Amur and scored a double to Admiral. Jaskin posted no negative ratings, ending the week being plus-4.

- best rookie was goalie Daniil Isayev (Lokomotiv), who had two OT wins last week. The 19-years-old netminder saved 92.5% of the 40 shots he faced, posting a goals-against average of 1.83.
