The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best player of the sixth month of play – March – in four categories.

- best goalie was Ilya Sorokin (CSKA), who won eight of nine games, including one shutout. The Red Army goalie had a saves percentage of 96.07% with a goals-against average of 1.00 (both figures are the best for March). Today, Sorokin leads the League in goals-against average in the playoffs.

- best defenseman was Mat Robinson (CSKA), who won eight of nine games with his team, scoring 5 (2+3) points over that span. Both his goals (in game three against Vityaz and game four against HC Dynamo) were game-winners. Robinson posted no negative ratings throughout the whole month, ending March being plus-2. He also had 13 shots on goal, recorded seven hits, and blocked five shots from the opposition.

- best forward was Nikita Gusev (SKA), who won eight games of eleven with his team, scoring 15 (7+8) points (best overall result in the month). The St. Petersburg star forward scored points in eight different games, scoring goals in five of them. Gusev posted a double in the fifth and final match of the series against Lokomotiv. He also scored the game-winning goal against the Railwaymen in the second game. The SKA forward also had 36 shots on goal and wasn’t whistled a single penalty in the whole month.

- best rookie was defenseman Daniil Misyul (Lokomotiv), who scored his first KHL goal in the sixth and final game in the series against HC Sochi. The Lokomotiv blueliner posted no negative ratings, ending March being plus-3. The 18-years-old player logged an average ice time of 15 minutes and 16 seconds, had nine shots on goal and recorded seven hits.
