To mark the end of the twenty-second week of the tenth season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender was Pavel Francouz (Traktor), who played in three games, including two on the road, and celebrated victory after all three. The 27-year-old Czech ended the week with one shutout, a save percentage of 98.04 (the highest of any goalie in the League) and a goals against average of 0.67;
– Best defenseman was Juuso Hietanen (Dynamo Moscow), whose figures show three appearances, two wins, 4 (3+1) points, and no negative ratings, earning a +2 for the week. The 32-year-old Finn scored a double against Kunlun, including the game-winner, and his goal (against Admiral) also sealed victory for the Muscovite Blue-and-Whites;
– Best forward was Roman Starchenko (Barys), who emerged victorious from two of his three matches. The 31-year-old Kazakh attacker struck 11 shots, scored goals in all three games, hit doubles against Lada and Avtomobilist (the latter brace included the game-winner) and ended the week with 5 goals - the best haul of any forward in the League. His account also shows one assist and a +3 for the week;
– Best rookie was Sibir defenseman Ilya Morozov, who was given three outings, including two on the road, and helped the men from Novosibirsk win all three. The 19-year-old Russian contributed 9 blocks, spent an average of 18 minutes 56 seconds on the ice and did not receive a single negative rating, meriting a +1 for the week.
