To mark the end of the twentieth week of the tenth season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender was December's goalie of the month, Ilya Sorokin (CSKA), who celebrated two shutouts and helped the Moscow Army Men win three out of three matches, one of which was on the road. The 22-year-old Russian recorded a save percentage of 98.41, a goals against average of 0.33, and his unbeaten spell between the pipes now stands at 137 minutes 45 seconds;
– Best defenseman was Evgeny Medvedev (Avangard). The 35-year-old Russian appeared in three road matches and helped the Omsk Men win two of them, scoring 5 (1+4) points (the highest total of any defenseman), firing off 11 shots, and earning a +5 for the week. Medvedev struck the game-winner in the match against Kunlun and contributed a hat-trick of assists against Admiral;
– Best forward was Vladimir A. Tkachyov (Ak Bars), who made two appearances, both on the road, and celebrated two victories, adding 4 (3+1) points to his account (of which 3 (2+1) came in the match against Torpedo). The 24-year-old Russian merited a +4 for the week;
– Best rookie was 21-year-old Dinamo Riga forward Frenks Razgals, who was given two outings at his home arena, averaged 11 minutes 59 seconds on the ice, and contributed 5 shots and one goal (the third of the young Latvian's KHL career).
