To mark the end of the twenty-fourth and final week’s play of the regular season of the Championship, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender was Alexander Yeryomenko (Dynamo Moscow), who helped his team secure two victories in two games. Yeryomenko had the highest save percentage (96.88%) and lowest goals against average (0.97) of any goalie in the League;
– Best defenseman was Grigory Panin (CSKA), who finished both his outings on the winning side and with a positive rating, earning a +6 for the week (the best for any defenseman). In the week in which his team clinched the Tikhonov Trophy as regular season winners, Panin’s contribution included a goal in the big derby against Spartak and an assist against Torpedo, in addition to 4 blocks and 4 hits,
– Best forward was Fredrik Pettersson (Dinamo Minsk), who beat the goalie in all three of his team’s matches - once against Ak Bars, once against Neftekhimik, and twice against Lada – scoring 5 points (4+1) in total. The 29-year-old Swede fired off 15 shots at goal and received no negative ratings, meriting a +1 for the week;
– Best rookie was Metallurg Novokuznetsk forward Artyom Mikheyev, who played in three road games, averaging 16 minutes 35 seconds of ice time – more than any other rookie forward. The 21-year-old finished the week with two wins, 2 points (1+1), 5 blocked shots and not a single negative rating.
