Menshikov, Klinkhammer and Brust banned for 1 game
Amid the range of misdemeanors committed during a feisty opening ten minutes of the Sibir versus Dinamo Minsk match in Novosibirsk on Wednesday, home defenseman Vitaly Menshikov and visiting forward Rob Klinkhammer each picked up a major penalty (5 minutes) for fisticuffs. As both men had already received identical punishments this season, they each incur an automatic one-game suspension for repeat offending.
Later that same day, at the end of the match in Bratislava between Slovan and Traktor Chelyabinsk, home goaltender Barry Brust earned a misconduct penalty (10 minutes). This was his third of the current campaign, and consequently, he also receives an automatic one-game suspension.
