To mark the end of the tenth week’s play of the ninth season of the Championship, which included the games played on 31 October and 1 November, the Kontinental Hockey League has named the best players of the week in four categories.
– Best goaltender was Pavel Francouz (Traktor), with two wins (including one shutout) in two appearances, a save percentage of 96.15 and a goals against average of 1.00;
– Best defenseman was Zakhar Arzamastsev (Salavat Yulaev), who played in three matches and ended the week with 2 wins and 3 points (2+1), thanks to his scoring a double against Sibir which included the game-winning goal. Arzamastsev also contributed 9 shots at goal, 4 hits, and avoided a negative rating in all three games, earning a +5 for the week;
– Best forward was Alexei Kopeikin (Vityaz), who celebrated two victories from three appearances and took points in all three outings. Kopeikin racked up a total of 6 points (3+3) and finished the week with a rating of +3;
– Best rookie was 20-year-old Lada forward, Denis Zernov, who was given 3 outings, helped his team to victory in two of them and scored the game-winner against Yugra. Zernov did not receive a single negative rating on his way to earning a +2, and his stats for the week read: 2 points (2+0), 5 shots at goal, 5 hits and an average 10 minutes 37 seconds of ice time.
