From Friday, the 25th of November, 2016, the official Week of Hockey Stars 2017 website hosts the online ballot by which hockey fans vote to choose the sixteen players who, on the 21st and 22nd of January, 2017, will step onto the ice in Ufa to contest the ninth KHL All-Star Game. Fans can also vote to select the young players of Team East and Team West in the MHL Challenge Cup on the 15th of January.

A number of innovations and changes have been introduced to the KHL All-Star Game format, one of which is that the players will be split into the KHL Divisions - Bobrov, Tarasov, Kharlamov, or Chernyshev – in which their respective clubs play.

The fans choose four players – one defenseman and three forwards – from each Division, and can make their selections for one, two, three, or all four Divisions, but only once during the voting process. Everyone can select no more than two players from any one club, regardless of their position.

To take part in the voting, locate the text box sited in front of the silhouettes representing each playing position on the rink, and type the first letter of the surname of the player whom you wish to select for the starting line-up, and then confirm your choice of players by clicking on the "Vote" button at the bottom of the page. Your votes will be recorded and will form part of the overall total.

The voting runs until Monday, the 5th of December. From the final sixteen players chosen by the fans, the League will appoint the captains of the four All-Star teams.

After the fans’ vote is completed, representatives of the sporting media will vote to select further players, choosing one goaltender, one defenseman, and one forward from each Division, after which the League will select the remaining players for the rosters. Also joining the teams will be the four finest youngsters from the MHL Challenge Cup, and part of the show will be a live draw whereby each of these young stars of the future will be assigned to one of the four All-Star teams.

Make sure you vote for your favorite players, and play your part in the biggest show of the hockey season.
