Following the departure last night of Traktor head coach Karri Kivi, the club has appointed former Chelyabinsk and NHL star Andrei Nikolishin as interim head coach.

In a long and varied playing career, Nikolishin enjoyed spells at Hartford, Washington, Chicago and Colorado in the NHL, Dynamo, CSKA, Lada, Avangard, SKA and Traktor in the Russian championship, and won World Championship gold and Olympic bronze for the Russian national team, but this will be his first job in a coaching capacity.

Accompanying Nikolishin during his spell in the Traktor driving seat will be assistant coaches Anvar Gatiyatulin and Vladimir Tsyplakov, plus goalie coach Fredrik Mikko.
