Official KHL statement on the epidemiological situation in the League
As of 10:00 MSK on January 8, 2022, three clubs in the League (Avtomobilist, Salavat Yulaev, CSKA) PCR tests for coronavirus showed a positive result in a large number of players and team representatives. The nearest games involving these clubs have been canceled.
Financial Fair Play, testing players. A round-up of the directors’ meeting
On Monday, Sep. 13, the KHL Board of Directors held their latest meeting. The agenda included discussion of the league’s financial plan, the distribution of TV and media revenues among the clubs, a report into controls over clubs’ activities and an update from the KHL’s chief referee about hot topics around officiating.
KHL management meets with club directors
On June 8, ahead of the KHL Closing Ceremony for the 2020-2021 season, KHL president Alexei Morozov held the traditional meeting with the directors of the member clubs. The discussion included a summary of the season just gone, talks about how the KHL development is being implemented and more.
Clarification of the situation involving Lokomotiv Yaroslavl
As a result of this situation, the game between HC Sochi and Lokomotiv was postponed. In addition, the game against Dinamo Minsk, which was due to be played on Sep. 19, was also postponed because there wasn’t enough time to prepare additional players from the Lokomotiv system and arrange the necessary documentation for them to cross the border into Belarus.
The KHL shares a record sum between its clubs
On Sep. 17 in Moscow, the KHL Board of Directors held its latest meeting. During the course of the discussions, it was confirmed that money earned by the league for last season’s TV rights would be distributed among our member clubs. In total, more than 466.5 million rubles (US$6.2 million) will be shared among the competing teams. Despite the curtailment of the 2019/2020 season, the League continues to follow its strategic development plan and increase the annual payment to the clubs.
