Two games in the Far East today
It’s a light KHL Tuesday with two games scheduled in the Far East, with Amur hosting Traktor and Admiral welcoming Avtomobilist.
The Tigers enter today’s game in good shape, with three wins in four matches, only falling to Metallurg on Saturday (1:3). Under Alexander Andriyevsky the team found some rhythm and a better defensive game, culminating in a shutout win over Avtomobilist in the team’s last outing. With the win over the Motormen, Amur cemented its seventh place in the Eastern Conference’s standings. Just one place above the Tigers is Traktor, albeit with a significant, six-point advantage. The Chelyabinsk franchise is on a similar run, also with three wins in its last four matches, and already collected a win in the Far East in the current trip, defeating Admiral (3:1). Today’s game will be key for both sides, with both teams able to claim the win.

In the second game of the match day, Admiral welcomes Avtomobilist. The Motormen will try to return to wins after losing games to Torpedo (0:2), Barys (2:3 OT), and Amur (0:5), with only two goals scored in this stretch. However, Avtomobilist remains in the East’s top four, tied with Avangard at 31 points, but after this setback the team lost ground from league-topping Metallurg. The Sailors are having a disappointing season and lost again on Sunday, this time to Traktor (1:3). Admiral is currently the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference, and the team will be looking for points in its last game in Vladivostok of the current series, before departing for a new road trip.
