Dynamo Moscow hosts Lada, Kunlun Red Star welcomes Severstal

Preview
Only two games are on tap on a light KHL Friday, both in the Western Conference.

Dynamo Moscow concludes a five-game home series today with a match against Lada. The two teams previously met this season, where Lada secured a 6:3 away victory, with young defenseman Magomed Sharakanov scoring the game-winner for Togliatti. Notably, Sharakanov, who netted the decisive goal, is on loan at Lada from Dynamo Moscow. Most recently, the Blue-and-Whites have been in excellent shape, with four wins in five games, including a 4:3 home victory against Vityaz following a SO loss to Torpedo. Lada enters today’s game on a two-game winning streak, after defeating Neftekhimik (3:0) and Avangard (3:1), respectively. The Muscovites are the fourth seed in the Western Conference, while Lada is slightly below the playoffs line in the East, with a one-point gap to Neftekhimik.

In the second game of the matchday, Kunlun Red Star hosts Severstal. The Cherepovets side is riding a six-game winning streak, and will be on the lookout for another victory. The hosts, however, also won their last game, defeating SKA at home. However, Severstal didn’t play any game after defeating Kunlun Red Star on home soil on Nov. 1 (7:2), and the team will return to action today after a one-week pause. It will be the fourth encounter between the two sides.
