Lokomotiv seeks eighth straight win hosting Torpedo, Dynamo Moscow faces Vityaz.

Preview
Lokomotiv seeks an eighth consecutive win today as Torpedo, fresh off a shootout victory, comes to Yaroslavl. Dynamo Moscow also faces Vityaz in their third meeting this season, with both teams battling to strengthen their playoff chances.

The Railwaymen will seek another win as today Torpedo comes to town. Lokomotiv is currently leading the league’s standings with 42 points, and won an impressive eight straight games as the Yaroslavl franchise start a new, short home series. Recently, forward Maxim Shalunov became the thirteenth player to score 200 goals in the league’s history. On the other end, Torpedo finally celebrated a win on Monday, against Dynamo Moscow (5:4 SO), after four straight losses, and is currently the seventh seed in the West. After today’s game, the Nizhny Novgorod side will fly back home.

Then, the action will move to Moscow, with Dynamo hosting Vityaz as the teams face for the third time this season, with the Blue-and-Whites claiming both contests. Despite the recent loss to Torpedo, Dynamo Moscow are on an encouraging fifth place in the Western Conference’s standings, as earlier the team won three straight games and grabbed one point from a match in Yaroslavl. The opposition will be fierce, with Vityaz having defeated Dinamo Minsk, tying them at 23 points, but not managing to overtake them in eighth place. To return to the right side of the playoffs line, Vityaz will need at least a point, but the Bisons will also have two games to play. With that being said, the Moscow Region team will finally return home after six straight away matches.
