Best Players of the 2024-2025 ninth week

The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the 2024-2025 Regular Season’s ninth week in four categories.

The League’s teams played 25 games last week, with 509 players (33 goalies, 169 defensemen, and 307 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 5.28 goals per game.

- Best goalie for the first time in his career was Maxim Motorygin (Dynamo Moscow), who won two games from two last week. The Blue-and-Whites’ goalie faced 57 shots, or 28.5 per game, with a save percentage of 98.25% and a goals-against average of 0.50 Motorygin posted his third shutout of the season in Tuesday’s Dynamo Moscow win over Amur (1:0).

- Best defenseman for the fourth time in his career was Martin Gernat (Lokomotiv), who scored 5 (1+4) points in three games last week. The Slovak defenseman posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-5 differential. He also made seven hits, blocked four shots, and had one pass interception.

- Best forward for the first time in his career was Jack Rodewald (Admiral), who scored 5 (3+2) points in three games last week, Rodewald posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-4 differential. The Vladivostok forward potted game-winners in the Sailors’ wins over Salavat Yulaev (4:2) and Amur (5:0). He also made one hit, blocked one shot, and had two pass interceptions.

- Best rookie for the second time in his career was defenseman Magomed Sharakanov (Lada), who scored 3 (1+2) points in two games last week. The young blueliner posted no negative ratings, ending the week with a plus-4 differential. Sharakanov also made two hits and had one pass interception.
