Best Players of the 2024-2025 eighth week

The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the 2024-2025 Regular Season’s eighth week in four categories.

The League’s teams played 27 games last week, with 521 players (39 goalies, 172 defensemen, and 310 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 5.37 goals per game.

- Best goalie for the ninth time in his career was Timur Bilyalov (Ak Bars), who won two games from two last week. The Kazan goalie faced 57 shots, or 28.5 per game, with a save percentage of 96.49% and a goals-against average of 1.00. Bilyalov posted his second shutout of the season in Friday’s Ak Bars win over Admiral (2:0). Bilyalov has caught up with Konstantin Barulin in terms of nominations, while Alexander Yeryomenko (13) and Vasily Koshechkin (18) are still in the lead.

- Best defenseman for the third time in his career was Andrei Sergeyev (Lokomotiv), who scored 3 (1+2) points in three games last week, with a plus-4 differential. The Yaroslavl blueliner potted the game-winning goal in Sunday’s Lokomotiv win over Dinamo Minsk (3:2). Lyamkin also blocked seven shots and had one pass interception.

- Best forward for the fifth time in his career was Sergei Plotnikov (SKA), who scored 6 (4+2) points in three games last week, with a plus-6 differential. In Wednesday’s SKA win over Kunlun Red Star (8:0) the St. Petersburg forward netted a hat-trick, including potting the game-winning goal. The SKA forward also recorded four hits, blocked four shots, and had one pass interception.

- Best rookie for the third time in his career was forward Ivan Demidov (SKA), who scored 6 (0+6) points in three games last week, with a plus-7 differential. The SKA forward also blocked three shots and had three pass interceptions.
