Ak Bars hosts Amur again!
Just two days after the first encounter, the Tatarstan franchise will host the Tigers again in today’s lone game.
It was a great game on Wednesday, when Ak Bars hosted Amur for its tenth season game. Amur started the contest pushing the gas, with Evgeny Grachyov finding his first goal this year in the opening frame. However, Ak Bars didn’t want to disappoint its fans and in the third period reverted the score with Semyon Terekhov and a deflection in the slot by Dmitrij Jaskin, who kept his 12-game scoring streak alive. However, it wasn’t over yet, and Alex Galchenyuk sent the game to extra time with just two seconds remaining, with Alex Khokhachyov getting his first assist this season. After a goalless OT period, Dmitrij Jaskin converted his SO attempt to give Ak Bars its eighth win of the current campaign, the seventh straight. The Tigers don’t win a game in Kazan for almost eleven years, with the most recent win dated back to Nov. 26, 2013 (2:1). And if that’s not enough, Ak Bars won its previous eleven games against Amur. After Wednesday’s defeat, the Andrei Martemyanov’s men will need to fight hard to rebound back – the Tigers played well, but they failed to win and remain in a disappointing eleventh place in the Eastern Conference.
