Best Players of the 2024-2025 second week

The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the 2024-2025 Regular Season’s second week in four categories.

The League’s teams played 29 games last week, with 528 players (38 goalies, 176 defensemen, and 314 forwards) taking part in the action. The scoring was at 5.83 goals per game.

- Best goalie for the first time in his career was Zach Fucale (Traktor), who had two wins in two games with his team last week. The Chelyabinsk goalie faced 56 shots, or 28 per night, posting a saves percentage of 98.21% and a goals-against average of 0.50. Fucale posted a shutout in Traktor’s win over SKA on Thursday (3:0).

- Best defenseman for the third time in his career was Martin Gernat (Lokomotiv), who scored 4 (2+2) points and a plus-1 differential in three games last week. Gernat also recorded four hits, blocked four shots, and had one takeaway. The Slovak defenseman was awarded Best defenseman honors twice in the 2023-2024 season.

- Best forward for the first time in his career was Vitaly Abramov (CSKA), who scored 6 (3+3) points in three games last week. Abramov netted the game-winner in Tuesday’s CSKA win over Sibir (8:2). He also recorded one hit, blocked one shot, and had one takeaway.

- Best rookie for the first time in his career was defenseman Magomed Sharakanov (Lada), who scored 1 (1+0) point. His lone goal of the week was the game-winner for Togliatti in the game against Dynamo Moscow on Tuesday (6:3). The 19-years-old defenseman also recorded three hits and blocked three shots, logging an average time on ice of ten minutes and ten seconds.
