Classic matchups in both East and West!

Preview
Six games are on tap on an action-packed KHL Monday, with Avangard hosting Ak Bars and SKA visiting Lokomotiv.

The KHL matchday starts with a blast as Avangard faces Ak Bars in a high-octane contest. So far, the Hawks are undefeated, despite lacking a few key players due to injuries, while Ak Bars has rebounded nicely after losing the first game of the season to Salavat Yulaev in the classical Eastern Conference rivalry.

In the other Eastern game of the night, Barys faces Amur. Both teams had disappointing starts of the new season and will be trying to revert the trend – one of the franchises will celebrate its first win of the 2024-2025 campaign trying to build on that win.

Another undefeated Eastern team is Avtomobilist. The Motormen move to the West today, however, to face Torpedo – the first of four games in the Western Conference. If Avtomobilist had a good reason to joy in the start of the new season, Torpedo lost its first two games and will be on the lookout for a first win today.

And what promises to be another exciting matchup is Lokomotiv against SKA. The Railwaymen, last year’s runner-up, are undefeated after two games. SKA lost its opener to Metallurg, but won its second game in Togliatti. Expect some tight competition between the two sides as they prepare for the top contests as the season progresses.

In Moscow, Spartak faces Dinamo Minsk. The Belarusians only played one game this year, shutting out Amur. The Red-and-Whites took the best of CSKA in their first match, but sensationally lost to Sochi in their second. The Black Sea franchise travel to face Vityaz in the remaining game of an exciting KHL Monday.
