Dynamo Moscow seeking revenge after loss in home opener, 300th game for Zavarukhin

Five games are on tap with Dynamo Moscow hosting Severstal seeking its first win in the new season.

In the home opener, the Blue-and-Whites suffered from a disappointing loss against Kunlun Red Star, with Nail Yakupov netting the game-winner for the Dragons. Dynamo Moscow will host Severstal tonight – the Steelers did win their first game in Nizhny Novgorod, and they will try and have a second straight win, even if they lost nine consecutive games to the Muscovites.

The matchday will start in Omsk, with Avangard hosting Neftekhimik. Both teams won their first game, against Sibir and Barys, respectively, and will try to start building a winning streak. The Hawks had a convincing win in the Siberian derby, with 20-years-old Ilya Reingardt netting the game-winner, while the Wolves needed an OT in Astana to come out on top. Avangard, however, keeps on having three key players sitting on Injury List.

The Kazakhs will seek a first win, against on home soil, against Traktor. Chelyabinsk also lost its first game in the season, a 3:4 loss to Avtomobilist, and will try to revert the trend that sees Barys coming out victorious in its last four games against Traktor.

Another team with four straight losses to today’s opponents is Avtomobilist. After a win over Traktor, the Motormen face Sibir in their second home game of the new season. The Novosibirsk will try to defeat Avtomobilist once again and get their first win in 2024-2025.

In the remaining game of the matchday, Kunlun Red Star welcomes Admiral. Both teams surprisingly won their first game, with the Sailors defeating Vityaz on Wednesday. It will be interesting to see what team will come out on top from the contest.
