New rule in OT

The KHL Board of Directors has approved changes to the League’s regulations through an absentee meeting.

One of the innovations concerns the point allocation system following overtime in Fonbet Kontinental Hockey League games. Starting from the 2024-2025 season, if a team replaces its goalie with an additional skater during OT and subsequently allows a goal, that team will receive zero points for the match and forfeit the extra point that comes from an OT loss. An exception to this rule is when the goalie is replaced with an additional skater due to a delayed penalty.
